South Carolina Research Authority, a public, nonprofit corporation that works to fuel the state’s innovation economy, announced March 4 it awarded $150,000 in grants to Agricarbon US Inc. of Piedmont, Bio Streamline LLC of Clemson University, Blotting Innovations Inc. of Central and Green Cape Health Inc. of Greenville.
Agricarbon US received a $50,000 relocation grant. SCRA partnered with the South Carolina Department of Commerce and Anderson County Economic Development in recruiting and supporting the company to establish its U.S. headquarters in Piedmont. Agricarbon samples agricultural soil and natural landscapes and measures the carbon content to verify carbon dioxide removals from the atmosphere.
Bio Streamline received a $25,000 academic startup grant. The life science startup is commercializing a model to accurately measure and assess the quality of donor allografts for transplants.
Blotting Innovations received a $50,000 federal matching grant. The business is developing solutions for high-throughput and affordable Western Blotting. Their 96-well Western Blot product works to make high-efficiency and precise protein analysis accessible for improved blood or tissue laboratory testing.
Green Cape Health Inc. received a $25,000 project development fund grant. The startup has developed a product called the RheumApp, which is a patient-reported outcomes platform built for rheumatology that allows providers to better care for patients suffering from severe chronic diseases by integrating patient-reported symptom data into clinical care and decision-making.
SCRA also awarded a $50,000 demonstration grant to Lumiq Inc. of Charleston.
SCRA welcomed Matty AI Inc. and SE.ai Inc. of Greenville as member companies.
Matty AI has developed a B2B AI-powered investment platform delivered as a software development kit, which works to enable businesses to offer personalized financial growth solutions to their clients.
SE.ai is a startup leverages AI to work to streamline FDA 510(k) approvals, cutting costs and time while increasing submission success rates.
SCRA also welcomed LCIX LLC of Mount Pleasant as a member company.
As SCRA member companies, the businesses will receive coaching, access to experts, grant eligibility and consideration for an investment from SCRA’s investment affiliate, SC Launch.
