Library News: Week of June 15, 2025 – The Globe


WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County Library is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1106 Third Ave., Worthington. The library is closed Saturdays and Sundays. The Children’s Library, 206 11th St., Worthington, is open noon to 5:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; and 9 a.m. to noon Friday. It is closed Saturday and Sunday.

The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. The library is closed Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Please note: Both libraries will be closed Thursday in honor of Juneteenth. Also, the Nobles County Libraries (Adrian and Worthington) are not accepting donations of items until further notice. Please do not leave donations outside of the building or put them in the book drops.

Entrance: 1106 Third Ave. Please use the entrance on the south side of the Southwestern Minnesota Opportunity Council building, the door closest to 11th Street.

Friends of the Library Book Club: June 23, at the Elks Lodge, Worthington, to discuss the book, “James” by Percival Everett.

Read on the patio: We have a patio, sort of. Enjoy reading among the flowers in the shade or sunshine.

Yoga with Melissa: 9:30 a.m. June 16. All ages welcome.

Adult Summer Reading Program: June 15 through Aug. 15. Watch our website for programs.

Adult Cooking Class: 5 to 7 p.m. June 26. Limit 20 people ages 19 and older or ages 16 and older with an adult.

Summer Reading Program: begins the week of June 10. Please sign your child(ren) up by calling the library at (507) 295-5340 or (507) 295-5346. Programs for grades K-3rd, 4th-5th, and 6th grade and up. Children are responsible for their own ride to and from the library.

June 17: 1 to 3 p.m., Just 4 Teens, Peacock Lamp and Trivia

June 18: 10 a.m., Storytime, “Let’s Get Messy”

June 18: 1 to 3 p.m., Zoomobile, JBS Fieldhouse.

June 23: 1 to 2 p.m., The Spoon Man, JBS Fieldhouse.

Story Time: 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesdays June 17 and 24 for children ages 5 and younger.

Crafternoon: 1 to 2:30 p.m. June 26, for children ages 6 and older.

Great Plains Zoomobile: 10 to 11 a.m., June 18, Grove Park.

The Spoon Man: 10 to 11 a.m. June 23, Adrian Emergency Services Building.

Daycare Outreach: June 25.

Books for adults: “Spitfires” by Becky Aikman, and “When We Go Missing” by April Henry.

Books for children: “Sonic Prime: Man of Action” and “Wish Switch” by Lynn Painter.
