Lamar Wilkerson – Carries Indiana in OT Wilkerson finished with 25 points (8-20 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 8-8 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 40 minutes during Saturday’s 78-77 OT win over Wisconsin.
Impact Wilkerson continues to be the lifeblood of this Indiana team, and he once again carried the Hoosiers to a resume-building victory that kept them above .500 in Big Ten play. He’s averaged 25.6 ppg over his last four, and while Saturday wasn’t his best shooting day, he was able to make things happen on offense even when the team appeared to be in dire straits. Wilkerson was just 1-for-7 in the overtime period, but he scored all six of Indiana’s points in OT, and was able to draw a controversial foul call with 2.8 seconds left that led to the game-winning free throws. He and the Hoosiers have a quick turnaround ahead, as Indiana hosts Oregon at Assembly Hall on Monday.
