Italian sales company Summerside Media has taken world sales outside of Nordic territories to Finnish psychological thriller “How to Shout,” starring Alina Tomnikov, who plays a lead role in Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming Viking series “Bloodaxe.”
Tomnikov is an emerging Finnish actress whose current credits include a main role in Sky original series “Funeral for a Dog.” She will soon be seen playing Greta/The Seer in the hotly anticipated “Bloodaxe,” which is currently shooting in Ireland with Michael and Horatio Hirst (“Vikings”) serving as showrunners.
“How to Shout” is a first feature from Finland’s Josefina Rautinainen that explores themes of mental health and trauma. In the film, Tomnikov plays a 30-something trauma survivor named Heloisa who arrives at a summer cottage with her new boyfriend and discovers that her boyfriend’s mother, a woman named Anu, is her former psychotherapist with whom Heloisa had fallen out.
Finnish actress and singer Jonna Järnefelt (“Abandoned Houses, Empty Homes”) plays Anu.
“‘How to Shout’ is a film about an obsessive relationship and the power dynamics between a
psychotherapist and a patient,” Rautinainen said in her director’s statement. “Through this unique human connection at the heart of the story, I wanted to explore the different forms of violence and the traces they leave behind, as well as aggression — approaching these themes with as humane and non-violent a
perspective as possible.”
Summerside Media, which is known for its slate of emerging voices and auteur-driven cinema, acquired rights outside the Nordics from Finnish production company Cinemanifest.
Nordic distribution is being handled by Nordisk Film, which has set the Finnish premiere of “How to Shout” later this month.

felt a special connection with the Finnish film industry — having taken part in the Finnish Film Affair
several times over the years, and proudly represented several Finnish titles.”
Manno will be kicking off sales on “How to Shout” at the upcoming Tallinn Black Nights Festival.
