Firefighters extinguish fire at Kahului recycling business | News


KAHULUI, Hawaii (Island News) — Maui firefighters responded to a fire at Aloha Recycling in Kahului early on Thursday morning.

Fire crews were alerted about the fire at 5:08 a.m. Units found a 600-square-foot office trailer in flames when they arrived at the site. They were able to get the fire under control at 5:26 a.m. as well as prevent it from spreading to neighboring properties.

Firefighters on Maui worked to extinguish a fire at Aloha Recycling in Kahului that broke out early Thursday morning.



The fire was fully extinguished over an hour later at 6:55 a.m.

Fire investigators are looking into the exact cause of this incident. The fire resulted in an estimated loss of $150,000 for the office and its contents.
