Hyundai And Georgia Tech Expand Hydrogen Mobility Partnership

Hyundai Motor Group and Georgia Institute of Technology have signed an MOU to advance hydrogen mobility and zero-emissions research. The initiative includes deployment of Hyundai NEXO fuel cell SUVs and installation of a hydrogen electrolyzer on campus, creating a real-world hydrogen testing environment.

The collaboration supports Hyundai’s carbon neutrality goals by 2045 and expands research into autonomous driving SoCs, EV battery materials, and cybersecurity. The initiative complements Hyundai’s broader hydrogen ecosystem in Georgia, including fuel cell truck operations and clean energy infrastructure development.

Hyundai Motor Group Unveils Pleos Connect For SDV Fleet Transition

Hyundai Motor Group has introduced Pleos Connect, a next-generation infotainment architecture representing the foundational deliverable in the manufacturer’s software-defined vehicle (SDV) roadmap. The architecture features a multi-modal cockpit interface comprising a Large Central Screen for 3D environment visualization and a dedicated Slim Display for telemetry. Designed for high scalability, the Group targets a deployment base of 20 million Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles by 2030, supported by continuous over-the-air (OTA) updates to maintain feature parity and system performance.

The system incorporates Gleo AI, an integrated large language model (LLM) assistant that enables natural language control over navigation and third-party service APIs. To optimize driver safety and interface ergonomics, Pleos Connect utilizes a hybrid control scheme pairing physical steering wheel actuators with multi-finger gesture recognition on the central HMI. This transition to a centralized compute model facilitates deeper integration of application services while standardizing the digital user experience across the Group’s global vehicle lineup.

IBM and Dallara Deploy GIST AI for Aerodynamic Simulation Speedup

IBM Research and Dallara have introduced a physics-based AI framework utilizing Gauge-Invariant Spectral Transformers (GIST) to accelerate aerodynamic design cycles. By training foundation models on high-fidelity Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) data, the system reduces pressure-field evaluation times for LMP2-class vehicles from several hours to approximately ten seconds. This surrogate modeling approach maintains the accuracy of traditional CFD while enabling near-instantaneous design iteration.

The collaboration is further investigating hybrid quantum-classical computing to address the intensive data processing requirements of full-vehicle simulations. Future technical milestones include the integration of wind tunnel telemetry and track-side data to refine AI predictions for dynamic maneuvers. The goal is to optimize engineering throughput across motorsport, aerospace, and high-performance automotive sectors by reducing time-to-insight for complex fluid dynamics.

POLYN Technology Tapes Out VibroSense Engineering Chip For Tire Friction Monitoring

POLYN Technology has completed the tape-out of its VibroSense engineering chip, marking the first integration of a Neuromorphic Analog Signal Processing (NASP) core for direct tire-road friction estimation. Developed in collaboration with GlobalFoundries, the chip utilizes analog neurons to process high-frequency accelerometer vibration signals in a truly asynchronous mode. This architecture enables real-time estimation of the peak friction coefficient (PFC) with extremely low power consumption and minimal inference latency, allowing deployment within the tire assembly where traditional digital SoCs face constraints.

The VibroSense solution addresses a critical gap in next-generation ADAS and autonomous driving platforms by providing predictive road-grip insights before braking or steering maneuvers occur. Unlike indirect virtual sensors, the NASP-based system is trained on diverse driving data to maintain accuracy across asphalt, concrete, and aquaplaning conditions. POLYN is currently engaging Tier 1 suppliers and automotive OEMs for integration into production vehicle safety systems.

Neusoft And HERE Technologies Solidify Strategic Mobility Partnership At Auto China 2026

Neusoft Corporation and HERE Technologies signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Auto China 2026, designating each other as Strategic Preferred Partners to deliver AI-driven intelligent mobility solutions. The collaboration addresses challenges in automotive global expansion, including fragmented payment systems, compliance disparities, and localized map data coverage. The integration of Neusoft’s OneCoreGo Global In-Vehicle Intelligent Mobility Solution 7.0 with HERE’s location services aims to provide a standardized ecosystem including navigation engines, global mapping, AR interaction, and cockpit integration.

The roadmap includes a Joint Innovation Lab focused on high-definition maps, sensor-map data fusion, and AI-powered interaction. The initiative aims to accelerate deployment of advanced intelligent driving systems and reduce development cycles for global OEMs. The partnership shifts toward pre-integrated software-defined vehicle architectures to improve cost efficiency and real-time situational awareness.

Neusoft Smart Go And Tencent Cloud Announce Strategic AI Partnership

Neusoft Smart Go and Tencent Cloud finalized a strategic partnership at Auto China 2026 to develop full-domain upper-body electronics solutions for AI-defined vehicles. The collaboration focuses on integrating Tencent’s on-device large models and app ecosystem into Neusoft’s intelligent cockpit systems. Key areas include multi-modal interaction, in-vehicle AI applications, cybersecurity, and cloud services enabling seamless mobile-to-vehicle transitions.

The partnership addresses high R&D costs and ecosystem integration challenges by offering hardware-software integrated platforms. Neusoft Smart Go’s product matrix, including central computing platforms and zonal control units, will leverage Tencent’s intelligent driving cloud and compliance frameworks. The strategy supports scalable AI-driven cockpit solutions with OTA updates across vehicle segments.

Cellular IoT Traffic Growth Driven By Automotive Connectivity

Omdia research forecasts cellular IoT data traffic will reach 218.6 exabytes by 2035, driven largely by automotive connectivity. The automotive sector is expected to grow from 30.7 exabytes in 2025 to 135.4 exabytes by the end of the forecast period, fueled by infotainment services such as 4K streaming and OTA updates over 5G architectures.

Transport and logistics represent the second-largest source of traffic, while other industrial sectors account for less than 29% of total volume beyond 2025. Growth is also driven by edge computing use cases such as industrial robotics and machine-to-machine communication. Asia and Oceania are projected to lead globally with 50.6% of cellular IoT traffic in 2025 due to early 5G adoption.
