BAFTA Film Awards to Air on E! in U.S.

The BAFTA Film Awards have set E! as their home across the pond this year.

Hosted by “The Traitors” star Alan Cumming, the awards ceremony — which celebrates the best in British and global film — will broadcast on E! in the U.S. on Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Britbox previously had the broadcast rights to the BAFTAs in the States. In the U.K., the awards will air on BBC One and iPlayer.

The 2026 nominees are led by Paul Thomas Anderson’s epic “One Battle After Another” with 14 nods, followed by Ryan Coogler’s historical horror “Sinners” with 13. Alongside those two, the race for best film also includes “Hamnet,” “Marty Supreme” and “Sentimental Value.”

This year’s BAFTA Film Awards nominees also include plenty of local British fare, including several noms for indie titles “I Swear,” “Pillion” and “The Ballad of Wallis Island.” Robert Aramayo, the breakout star of “I Swear,” is even competing in the leading actor race alongside the likes of Timothée Chalamet (“Marty Supreme”), Leonardo DiCaprio (“One Battle After Another”), Ethan Hawke (“Blue Moon”), Michael B. Jordan (“Sinners”) and Jesse Plemons (“Bugonia”).

In recent years, the BAFTAs have increasingly become a bellwether for the Oscars, with the two ceremonies lining up in 2025 on the winners for best actress (Mikey Madison for “Anora”), best actor (Adrien Brody for “The Brutalist”), supporting actor (Kieran Culkin for “A Real Pain”) and supporting actress (Zoe Saldaña for “Emilia Pérez”). With final Oscars voting ending on March 5, it remains to be seen how much this year’s BAFTAs’ winners list affects that of the Academy Awards.
