The Teaching, Learning and Technology Center (TLTC) is excited to announce its 2025 Summer Series, featuring a dynamic lineup
of workshops designed to help faculty enhance their teaching practices, adopt emerging
technologies and increase student engagement.
This year’s series includes both virtual and in-person events, covering high-impact
topics on Canvas, virtual reality, data analytics, accessibility, artificial intelligence,
microlearning and digital productivity. Whether you’re just getting started or looking
to sharpen your skills, the Summer Series has something for everyone.

Online Teaching Certificate – Level 2
Runs July 11–August 15, Asynchronous, Self-Paced
Prerequisite: Completion of Level 1 Certificate
In this follow-up course, participants will apply concepts from Level 1 to develop
a fully functional Canvas course. The modules guide faculty through creating a welcoming
and informative course shell, structuring content for alignment and clarity, fostering
transparency and student interaction, developing engaging lecture materials that establish
instructor presence and efficiently copying and reusing course content within Canvas.

Exploring Virtual Reality

Discover the future of teaching and learning in this full-day, hands-on workshop exploring
virtual reality in higher education. This in-person event features a series of engaging
sessions designed to showcase VR’s evolution, current tools and classroom potential.
Participants will explore real-world applications, take part in guided VR experiences
and consider how immersive technologies can enhance learning, foster collaboration
and meet diverse student needs.

Leveraging Analytics for Student Success: Canvas, Studio and Honorlock

walks participants through powerful analytics tools that reveal student engagement

Accessibility Day
Wednesday, June 11, 9 a.m.– 4 p.m., online via Teams
Make your courses more inclusive with this virtual workshop featuring a series of
practical sessions. Topics include creating accessible Word and PowerPoint documents,
adding captions to Canvas videos, using accessibility checkers and designing assignments
that support diverse learners.
Each session offers hands-on guidance to help you identify and improve accessibility
across your course materials—all with tools you already use.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Wednesday, June 18, 9 a.m.– 3 p.m., online via Teams
Join the TLTC and guest faculty speakers for a day-long exploration of artificial
intelligence and its growing role in education and everyday life. Through five interactive
sessions, you’ll examine AI’s impact across industries, experiment with creative tools
and learn how to use AI ethically and effectively in your teaching.
Topics include using AI to enhance teaching and productivity, analyzing AI-generated
content and navigating ethical considerations. Guest speakers from Stillman, CEPS
and the College of Communication and the Arts will guide the discussion.

Microlearning Day

Explore how microlearning can boost student engagement and personalize learning in
this interactive, full-day workshop. Through a series of hands-on sessions, you’ll
learn to design short, focused learning experiences using multimedia tools, digital
badges and platforms like ThingLink.
Topics include microlearning principles, personalized learning pathways and creating
content through video, podcasts and interactive scenarios. You’ll also discover campus-supported
resources to help you bring these strategies into your own courses.

not harder. Ideal for staff and administrators—and welcome to faculty—this day-long session offers practical strategies to streamline your digital workspace.

with OneDrive and make the most of Office 365 tools. You’ll also explore time-saving
