Saquon Barkley joined a very exclusive club with the season he had in 2024. Through five weeks of the 2025 season, he’s on pace to join an even more exclusive – but much less favorable – club.
The Philadelphia Eagles‘ running back became the ninth member of the 2,000-yard club in 2024. Barkley is currently on pace to become just the third member of that club to follow up his 2,000-yard campaign with a season tallying fewer than 1,000 rushing yards.

Barkley’s 2024 season was remarkable. His 2,005 rushing yards in 16 games put him in striking distance of Eric Dickerson’s single-season record in a 17th game, but he sat out of the Eagles‘ Week 18 game to prepare for the playoffs.
The 2025 season has been an entirely different story.
Ahead of Week 6 of the 2025 season, Barkley has not yet surpassed 90 rushing yards in a game. At this point last year, he had three such games, including two 100-yard outings. He also hasn’t reached 100 yards from scrimmage in a single game this season.

Barkley is currently on pace for just over 900 rushing yards – 907.8, to be exact – through five weeks.
