Tech stocks climbed late Friday afternoon with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) rising 2.9% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) jumping 4%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index advanced 3.2%.
In corporate news, Oracle 
ORCL is in talks with the Indonesian government to build a cloud services center in the country, Bloomberg reported. Oracle shares rose 1.3%.
